12-way 5.0mm Armoured Tactical Fibre Cable | 2/4/6/8/-Way OS2

This outdoor tactical fibre cable is designed for temporary field deployment and retrieval. TPU jacket and flexible stainless-steel armor options are available for broadcast, event and other mobile fibre-link applications.

For temporary fibre links that need mechanical protection and a compact cable diameter, HHDfiber offers armoured tactical cable in 2, 4, 6 and 8 fibre configurations (2-way, 4-way, 6-way and 8-way cable). Each version has a black, UV-resistant polyether TPU outer jacket, aramid reinforcement and stainless-steel spiral armour. The specified finished outside diameter is 5.0 ± 0.2 mm.

The cable can be supplied in cut lengths or discussed as a terminated assembly for broadcast, live event and field network applications. Tell us the equipment interfaces, required length and reel arrangement so we can check the complete build against your project specification.

12G-SDI / 4K video fibre links
For live production using 12G-SDI optical equipment, this G.657.A1 single-mode cable can provide the passive fibre link between compatible optical transmitters and receivers. LC-terminated assemblies can be specified to suit the equipment interfaces and deployment length. A 12G-SDI / 4K video link depends on the optical modules and the complete link loss budget; confirm the required fibre count, connector polish and full-length optical test results for each build. The cable itself does not convert HDMI signals to 12G-SDI.

UK broadcast and event buyers may describe a twelve-fibre cable as a 12-way single-mode cable and put the length first, for example 25 m 12-way single-mode cable. In a cable specification, 12-way means twelve individual optical fibres. If you need a terminated 12-channel fibre cable assembly, tell us the connector type and fibre-to-port mapping at each end so we can confirm the channel arrangement. The 5.0 mm construction specified on this page covers 2, 4, 6 and 8 fibres; please request the separate 12-fibre cable specification for a 12-way build.

Designed for temporary fibre runs in live production, the 5.0 mm armoured cable can be specified in the fibre count and length needed for a venue. Connector and reel arrangements are confirmed for each build.

Live sports and stadium production

Long runs and ST-terminated assemblies

HHDfiber has previously built a 1,000 m fibre assembly with ST connectors. For a new long-run requirement, tell us the fibre count, cable construction, connector details and reel preference. We will confirm the proposed build and full-length optical testing before quoting.

If you specify the build by optical channels, include the connector and breakout arrangement as well. For a cable deployed and recovered from a reel, include your reel size or handling requirement. We can then confirm a suitable construction, testing scope and quotation.
